Engineering Manager

This role will manage a section of Trim & Chassis engineers through the development of new model andminor model programs; monitors resolution of concerns during model development, including implementation of field fix and repair information; and drives standardization and strategy initiatives. New Model development includes the requirements for process equipment, materials, tooling, and countermeasures for workability and quality concerns.  Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth. Job Functions Provides support to the Trim & Chassis Assembly plant for quality, cost, delivery, and safety related engineering problems. Manages and leads the development of budgets for new model development and ensures adherence to the approved budgets once programs are contracted. Manages major and minor model manufacturing plan development and execution, including trials and launch of new equipment and tooling; confirms new and minor model program requirements; ensures requirements for quality, delivery, cost, and safety are met; addresses production to ensure countermeasures are made in a timely manner; ensures program targets are met at each trial or development stage. Identifies potential improvements and implements new department processes, systems, and tracking processes to obtain departmental KPIs. Coordinates with NTC and NTC-NA design groups to implement changes in vehicle or parts design; develops processes and plans to improve manufacturability and resolve PQA concerns and early field feedback quality concerns; provides feedback to design centers regarding design as it affects manufacturing. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative. Supports manufacturing as required to meet aforementioned goals with continuous improvements of dimensional issues as well as process improvements; provides direction to manufacturing regarding manpower utilization and efficiency, and ergonomics.Provides direction and responsibilities for employees centered on training, objectives, development of standards within the job function, and New Model plant preparation. Management Accountabilities: Has engineering and other professional subordinates including contractors. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; leads employees to establish team and individual annual goals that relate to corporate KPIs and guide them in tracking these goals for each phase of a project; interviews and selects unit employees; provides timely feedback in terms of performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative. Minimum Qualifications Job Knowledge and Skill: In-depth understanding of automotive technology, product knowledge, Trim and Chassis-related processes and equipment, related information systems, PQ and related legal processes.  Basic understanding of design, development production and processes. Experience: Seven or more years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience. Supervisory Experience: Two or more years in an engineering role exhibiting leadership skills. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline. Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
