Job Duties:
Maintain the safety and security of all personnel, inmates, and the Detention Center.
Process inmates in and out of the facility.
Applies and removes restraints from inmates.
Be able to convey concise communication and give directions to inmates in your care.
Perform facility searches and inmates searches as prescribed by the county policy.
Supervise inmate workers within the secured facility.
Qualifications:
Successful detention officers need to have the ability to handle uncertainty, the ability to process information quickly, the ability to weigh evidence with intuition and take action in a timely manner.
Be resilient! Able to learn from mistakes, setbacks, or failures.
Be available to work any shift to meet the needs of an ever-evolving demanding schedule.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Demonstrate the ability to complete any required training.
Must be able to pass a physical and a background check.
Must have a valid driver license.
Cannot have any domestic violence or felony charges.
