Department Court Services Location:
City Hall Title Deputy Court Clerk Reports to Joycette Nichols Title Court Clerk Type of position:
Full-time Hours 40hr / week General Description To perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the municipal court services.
Duties & Responsibilities Must be able to file correctly and maintain a file system.
To perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the municipal court services; and to provide information and assistance to the public regarding court policies and procedures.
Answering telephones; respond to or direct inquires to appropriate personnel; answer questions regarding court policies and procedures.
Prepare files for court trials; review each case to ensure file is complete.
Process warrants and affidavits in accordance with court procedures and legal requirements; input data into the computer.
Review trial dates and general subpoenas as necessary; forward subpoenas to baliff for serving.
Schedule trial dates for defendants; prepare complaint and mediation notices; copy, mail and maintain files of notices; post arrest notices in docket book.
Minimum qualification Education, Training,
Experience:
The incumbent would normally attain the required knowledge and skills through completion of basic accounting coursework combined with related financial and administrative experience.
Equivalencies will be considered.
Two (2) years of experience in this or a related field is also strongly recommended.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
